In What Way Has Traditional Male Roles Changed Nowadays? We must admit that every little boy dreams to become an adult ASAP so as to be a true man. Time flies by and this guy is far not a teenager any more, but has he reached his original goal? Male and female roles are changing dramatically in the modern society and that’s the fact. Women are extending their influence in all the spheres of life. They are active and influential politicians, successful businesswomen, brave astronauts and wise doctors. Women build career and take care of their families, spend the whole eternity in beauty salons and make astonishing achievements in science. Their energy has no limits, it seems. The only question which appears at this point is, naturally, where are the men? Please, understand me correctly, that’s wonderful that our careful men give women a chance to do all mentioned above, which fills them with proud and joy for their darlings and gives even more extent of happiness to women. Nevertheless, does this change influence the relationship between a man and a woman? It certainly does and not always in the best way. To start with, men don’t consider themselves as breadwinners any more, providing a number of families with unbelievable understanding and happiness in case his wife is ready to take up such a responsibility. Househusbands are not a surprise nowadays, but the number of men living on a woman’s account without marrying her and without taking care of house chores should be greatly decreased, to my mind. Another problem is that such a quick change in the man-woman relations will influence the next generation greatly. There used to be a number of unspoken and even unrealized small details in everyday life of a family, which gave children the idea of a strong man, who is the head of the family and a loving careful woman that should be taken care of. Modern children are confused. Girls are trying to behave as their strong mothers, which results in them being less feminine. Boys are becoming gentler and even feminine, following examples of their fathers and looking for strong reliable women to behave as their mothers used to. The only possible conclusion is the following. We are probably on the way to better understanding. That’s true and the reason is that people are becoming sexless to some extent. Ed leaned in to peer at hood of the deep blue Mercedes Benz. He wore a well-loved overcoat and khakis that had at one point been a brighter color but had long ago turned dark. Touching the finely waxed hood, he gazed at his reflection, warped and bent. He was not a tall nor a short man, and he was lean and weathered. Though his hair was naturally rather tidy, it had been awhile since he had buzzed it, the waves of hair tumbling around his face. Two bright eyes peered out from the mass of strands, watching the world go by. Day in, and day out, he saw crowds of people hustle through their busy lives in downtown Seattle. Most notably, the speech resulted in Congress passing the Economic Opportunity Act, which formed the Office of Economic Opportunity to distribute federal funds towards impoverished citizens on a state and local level. Since that declaration over fifty years ago, federal spending on antipoverty programs has reached nearly $15 trillion inflation-constant dollars. With all of this spending toward reducing poverty in America, some progress was inevitable. Yet with the poverty rate still hovering at 15% and a record number of Americans living in poverty since the war has started, many have begun to reevaluate the current government policies and tactics being used to combat poverty in the nation. The persistent issue of poverty in America suggests a much deeper, more nuanced societal problem, seemingly resulting from familial instability, value systems, and everything in-between. Capitalism can be compared to any race. In any race, the reward is greatest for those who finish first. In the capitalism race, the fastest and most prepared competitors win the race. Welfare helps those in the class of poverty but what do they do with those checks on the 1st and 15th. If the people on welfare were hurting or trying to recover welfare wouldnt be a problem but when they stay on it for a long period it puts a strain on the American economy. We need a more demanding application for welfare to really see who needs the help and whose just trying to get a free check in the mail. According to Susan Mayer, who conducted a study on poverty, there are two types of poor people. Some simply lacked money but still had middle class values and benefit from government income support. Then there was the true lower class that would live in squalor even if their incomes were doubled. But how can we tell the difference between the two, you cant judge a book by its cover. So as to show that welfare is helping America we should have more accurate reports to help us outlook on what is really happening. Or should we banish welfare and live the rule of, the survival of the fittest. If pushed to survive and not spoon fed by the government maybe the lower class would show some initiative to work. But if that did not work it would put a lot of people on the streets begging and peddling. Or maybe the answer to this welfare is just giving America its basic needs to live.
